Updating restriction enzyme data using REBASE
How can I update the restriction enzyme site data in MacVector?
I would like to update the list of restriction enzyme sites in MacVector and do not want to manually enter each site in one at a time. Is there an easy way of doing this?
Download the latest restriction enyzme sites from REBASE and use the REBASE converter (included on your MacVector distribution disk) to convert it to MacVector format.
The latest restriction site data is available from the REBASE database of restriction enzymes which is updated daily. It is maintained by Dr Richard J. Roberts and Dana Macelis and can be downloaded from the following site:
http://rebase.neb.com/rebase/rebase.files.html
After downloading, you will need to use our REBase Converter Utility to process the REBASE data file into MacVector formatted .renz files.
Preformatted files are also available on our download page. Follow the instructions provided with the download.
